Über die Position

We are looking for a Senior Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Engineer to join a digital Workplace Transformation project for a transportation-sector client. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with designing, implementing, and supporting AVD environments, is fluent in both English and German, and is ready to work in a hybrid model with BCF. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to building secure, scalable virtual workplace environments.

Anforderungen

Requirements (Must-Have):

Deep understanding of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) architecture: host pools, session hosts, FSLogix
Strong experience with Azure Active Directory (AAD) and identity integration
Knowledge of IAM and RBAC for access and permission management
Familiarity with Azure networking, DNS, firewalls, Fileshares, and blob storage
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration
Hands-on experience in Windows OS imaging and customization
Application packaging and deployment with MSIX and AppAttach
Experience in monitoring and securing AVD environments using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
Understanding of Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Office 365, SharePoint, etc.)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Familiarity with Agile and ITIL methodologies (incident/change management)
Excellent communication skills – ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Fluent English and German (spoken and written)
Nice-to-Have:
Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops or VMware Horizon
Relevant certifications:
Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty
Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization (CCA-V)
VMware Certified Professional – Desktop and Mobility (VCP-DTM)
Experience in multi-domain or cloud migration projects

Ihre Verantwortung

Design, deploy, and manage secure and scalable AVD environments
Configure and maintain host pools, session hosts, and user profiles using FSLogix
Integrate AVD with AAD and configure IAM/RBAC policies
Automate deployments and operational tasks using PowerShell
Build and update Windows OS images for virtual desktop environments
Package and deliver applications using MSIX and AppAttach
Monitor system performance and security using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
Collaborate with infrastructure and workplace teams to ensure reliability and user satisfaction
Ensure compliance with security best practices and IT standards
Participate in incident and change management processes according to ITIL
Work in a hybrid Agile/Waterfall setup within a dynamic transformation initiative
